Ted Thompson had this coming since his arrival in Green Bay. He wasted a first round draft pick on Rodgers with his first draft. To avoid not looking like a total idiot, he had to put Rodgers on the field before Aaron's contract was up. Of course as we all know over these past few weeks, Thompson ended up looking like a total idiot anyway.
I don't agree with the decision, but they had to make it after all the ill will they created with their treatment of Brett.

13-3 last year, a loss in overtime in the Conference Championship and one play from getting into the SuperBowl, their starting quarterback is runnerup for MVP. Last year was a great year for Green Bay!  Much of the last year's team is back and their star quarterback decides to come out of retirement. And they don't want him? Are they crazy? Rodgers is a plain back up QB with no experince in leading a team. If he turns out to be the starting QB I predict he will last 1/2 way through the season and then they will all say we should have kept Favre. Better yet bring back doug Flutie as there QB he is probably better then Rodgers....
