I know this will be sacrilege to you user-generated content devotees. Wikipedia has become too heavily relied-upon as an information source, and despite its efforts to edit (yet, by anyone?), fiction can become fact in peoples' minds far too easily. Don't be surprised if our kids' term papers cite Wiki as a source, because 'someone on the web said so??' Even if Colbert supports 'wikiality', I don't.

Oooooh nellie. This one is easy fodder. NatterChick, I don't think you are using Wikipedia with the right purpose. Probably not a good idea to use it as a definitive source for work or school projects, but man oh man does it give you some good leads to follow up on.

Just last night I was asked the question, what is Mandisa from last season's (or was it 2 seasons ago) Amercian Idol doing these days?

This, of course, was in the context of a discussion about Lakisha and her chances of winning this season's American Idol. For those of you dying to know some probable information about Mandisa, look here http://en.wikipedia.or....

And there is so much more to get lost in...I could page through for days. I submit that Wikipedia might actually be the greatest Web development in the past 10 years. Chew on that.

Love Wikipedia -- even if half of it is urban myth.

Voted with my heart (NatterChick) and not my brain (Wolverine).

TheColonel, can you please go tell TK to vote with his brain?

I'm afraid you've proven my point, by citing American Idol. But it's not you, me or Trigginator I worry about, who recognize Urban Myth when we see it. It's the majority of Wikireaders who truly believe it's a legitimate source! Call me elitist, I like a good fact checker for my info.
