Warriors are in trouble

Tonight was an inauspicious start to the second half of the season for Golden State, losing to the Jazz. In the aftermath of the Kidd deal to Dallas, the Gasol deal to the Lakers, and the Shaq deal to the Suns, GSW signing Chris frickin' Webber sounds like a joke. I had high hopes coming in to this season, but now I feel like they'll be lucky to even make the playoffs. Right now, Phoenix, LA, New Orleans, San Antonio, Dallas, Denver, and even Portland and Houston seem like serious playoff contenders out of the West. How does GSW even make it in with this competition??? Meanwhile, by the way, they'd have the 4th best record if they were in the East.

You're high. Golden State is in good shape right now. Last night's blunder against Charlotte not withstanding, they are playing good basketball right now. Four of their starting 5 are stellar guys (the exception being Webber, of course). But with surprise guys like Brandan Wright stepping up and Biedrins back tomorrow, they haven't been as exposed in the center as you'd think they would be. Also, Phoenix, Dallas and Denver are struggling. And I gotta believe Houston loses wind at some point with Yao out. I like the Warriors chances of making the playoffs.

Feels wobbly to me. Even if they make it to the playoffs, they don't have the big men or rebounding they need to face up against the top teams in the West.

Grim Trigger, you're such a homer. Just cause you live in the Bay Area doesn't make it so.

How about the emergence of Ellis? After that flop in last year's playoff, I'm impressed by how he bounced back this year. Now he is a MAJOR stud. So athletic.

Totally agree -- Monta is a stud. He and Barron make a fantastic back court.
