Spygate needs to end

First off, let me be totally clear that I have no love for the New England Patriots. I'm a green-and-yellow blooded Packers fan, and, in fact, largely detest the Pats and Belichick. But for God's sake, I wish this spygate thing would just go away! The horse has been more than beaten to death, it's being turned into hamburgers. You'd think that after Goodell, who you know wants to nail Belichick more than anything, found NOTHING after a three-hour interview with wannabe whistle-blower Matt Walsh, that this would finally be over. There just isn't anything more there. (Which, PS, makes our man Walsh here one of the bigger idiots in recent sports memory.)

But NO! Now Arlen Specter has to mug for the camera and pretend to be the much more distinguished, intelligent and politically palatable former Sen. Mitchell and call for an independent investigation. Arlen, will you please shut up and pay attention to something that matters, like, oh... I don't know, THE WAR! Or THE ECONOMY (stupid)! You're not helping. Besides, the Pats lost the Super Bowl so there's no point in tearing them down further anyway.

I disagree, if you cheat you should pay the piper. they should look into this and make them pay. Belichick should be suspended for a year and the patriots should find. The should also ban video camera's from practice and training.

I agree Specter should be talking about something different, but why are we talking about this. Did you see the Lakers and Cetlics games last night; now there is something to smack about.

Wow... this is a tough one- I absolutely agree with you both! Being a Dolphins fan, I'd love nothing more than to see the Pats and Belichick go down in flames and I feel strongly that these types of stunts cannot go without serious punishment. But, for the love of God, what the hell are federal politicians doing getting involved in all this?!? They have bigger problems to be solving than to be distracted by this relatively trivial matter.

I agree Specter should focus on something else but the NFL needs to come down hard on the Patriots if they used the live taping to help real time with things. The fact that coaches need to cover their mouth with the play card during the game is ridiculous

Specter is an embarrassment. No doubt.

At this point, this whole thing beyond repair so they should all just move forward and plan for the future. What the NFL needs to do is establish the ground rules with serious penalties for future types of infractions. What I don't get is how a team thinks that institutional cheating like this won't eventually catch up to them. Coaches change teams. Players change teams. How in the heck can it remain a secret? Shocking.
