That is silly talk. You are right that the Pistons are in trouble, but not in the first round. They'll rally and get by Philly in six, but the fact that they are struggling to beat a .500 team in the first round clearly demonstrates that they are not ready to go the distance with this old and predictable team.
It's not a matter of the Piston's being cocky. People very much overlook how lacking they are at the point guard position. Chauncey Billups is a solid shooter but he is a horrible point guard at this point in his career. This gets grossly exposed in the playoffs and manifests itself during those stretches when the Pistons cannot get a score. They have no guy they can go to to break down another team's defense.
So in summary, the Pistons are not going down in 7 to Philly, but have little to no shot of getting to the Finals.
