I think pierce is being over shadowed by KG and the rest of the stars on the team and has to resort to faking injuries to get the crowed behind him so he can be the hero. Too many stars on one team and not enough Ball to go a round. I laughed my ass off when I seen him in the wheel chair and then come back to the court and score a couple of three's. What would have made things interesting is if he would have wheeled him self on the court sitting in the chair and started to play murder ball and scored a few points. Then I would of said " humm this guy has BALLS"

While I agree with you that the entire injury thing was ridiculous, to say that Paul Pierce is being over shadowed by ANYONE on that Celtic team is ludicrous. He has been THE MAN through every series in the playoffs. His balls are big and bursting with loads of confidence. Game seven against Cleveland was a Pierce extravaganza and then he continued his awesomeness against my Pistons, unfortunately.

You can't say the same about Jesus Shuttlesworth or KG, who likes to pass up 10 foot jumpers in order to get Powe 15 foot jumpers. The Celtics are nothing without Pierce. Those mercenaries they brought in are not near the champion that Pierce is.

Had to go with Wolverine on this one even though I think the argument changed a bit. Pierce does love the drama. Where KG shies away from it. Pierce is the best player on this team by a mile. KG is fine for 3 quarters. It's the 4th that I want to have my star step up, and that's Pierce where KG is still passing off to the likes of Powe (Pistons) and Rondo (Cavs) to hit 18 footers.

I lost a huge measure of respect for Pierce with his "injury." That's just plain old embarrassing. As James Worthy (who is admittedly biased) said the next day on the radio: if your teammates carry you off gurney-style, and they role you to the locker room in a wheel chair, you damn well better be hurt. That may have been the most over-dramatic sports moment I've ever witnessed.

Pierce, despite his Game 3 performance, is still the best option on the Celtics. KG's reluctance to play the post is just mystifying. Aggressive play will win this series, which is why Pierce and the C's will take it.
