Have to go with Smackalicious on this one. The Lakers are the only thing goin' in LA. And even with them, people barely care except for celebrity watching on the sidelines. To lose both your NFL franchises is embarrassing. If I was clinging to USC as my "football" experience, I'd have to take a long hard look in the mirror, Duncan. |

I'd say that LA is probably the second worst sports town, so I have to disagree. I have lived in the Washington DC area for 6 years now and I am stunned by how poor the sports culture is. The Redskins fans are pretty strong, but after that it is miserable. I come to work on Mondays and no one knows what the hell happened in the sports world over the weekend. Plus the college sports scene is extra weak. In LA you have the Dodgers and Angels in baseball, both very solid franchises. The Lakers are the toast of the town. Throw in USC football, UCLA basketball and a dash of Long Beach St. volleyball and you have yourself a half decent sports scene. |
