I like the Frank Walker move

Sending this to a bunch of Packer fans I know. First real free agency move today by the Pack to sign Frank Walker. I don't know all that much about Walker, other than I remember the bone-headed late hit he made in the Tennessee game last year. But from what I read, this sounds like a good move. In the context of a bunch of crazy-stupid free agency moves (which have been discussion threads with many of you), this decision seems logical, cost-effective, and hopefully impactful.

The defensive backfield was a liability last year. With two great starters at CB, I'd be more enthusiastic if they'd gotten a star safety. But they clearly need depth there for nickel/dime packages, and Walker should help there.

Plus, there's this quote from his agent, "Here's the thing. Frank Walker does not drink alcohol. He's a straight-arrow guy. I said, 'Hey, Frank, it's perfect for you up there. There's nothing for you to do. Just play football.'"

Great move if your looking to round out your practice squad. Let's see, "I don't know much about Walker (Texas Ranger), but it sounds like a great move." Trigginator you should be one of Ted Thompson's lackeys. Two aging corners, a lousy safety in free agency last year (Marquand Manuel)and we waste time picking up Walker Texas Ranger. Is Mossy Cade or Estus Hood available?

Also, has his agent ever been to Green Bay? Walker Texas Ranger could go ice fishing, bowling or deer hunting. Nevermind, all of those Wisconsin sports involve drinking.

Debate about Frank Walker...only Pack fans spend time on meaningless moves like this. And I mean that in the nicest way. Pack fans are legit...and annoying.

Not sure who Bucky is but I like him. Frank Walker is like signing that guard O'Dwyer two years ago. He is just a likely to not make the roster.

Frank (no drinking) Walker might be a good addition, but TT better open the wallet and start signing some players that are going to make a difference in getting the Packers to the playoffs. Bucky, you got my vote. I can imagine Brett with his 9th beer in his hand before noon today thinking, great Frank is coming up to Green Bay.

Look -- I'm not saying I'm ecstatic about the guy. I'm just glad that their first move was in the d backfield -- the area that I think is probably their greatest need.

Stop backpedaling Trigginator. You are getting shut out as I write this, 7-0. It's time for you to start citing tackle statistics and vertical leap figures.

To continue the beat down on Trigginator...

If the D backfield is their area of greatest need why not address it properly? A player at the margins is not the answer. Manuel is a liability on the field and they can't hide him, Nick Collins has potential and finished the season strong against the Bears, but I think there are big questions of consistency surrounding him (how long do you hope that the potential actually develops and makes an impact?). I can't stand Packer fans who point to one performance and see a messiah. So, you have two aging corners a free agent bust and a third year player hoping for a breakout from mediocrity and you add Frank Walker to this mix. Pitiful move and you applaud it. Again, can we still sign Mossy Cade or Estus Hood?

Also, you initially sounded ecstatic but you get poked in the eye (hard) and you make a hasty retreat. You've been smacked.

Who could have possibly voted for Trigginator? Or did he vote for himself?

Trigginator most certainly voted for himself. He has to do a lot of things for himself.
