Hate to admit it - 76ers are better without Iverson and Nuggets are worse with him

Allen Iverson is my favorite NBA player. I don't think the media ever gave him the credit for how hard he played, how talented he is, and actually the fact that he's a good teammate and unselfish on the floor. I thought the Sixers were dead and the Nuggest would make a run for winning the Western Conference.

Well, the Nuggest have done better than the Sixers in one respect-- their attendance is on the rise while the Sixers are on the fall. But the Nuggets can't seem to get it together, and the Sixers are putting a nice little run together, with Iguodala finally playing up to potential.

“There's only one Allen Iverson,” Sixer guard Kyle Korver said. “He's a great player. But the style of play we're going to play from now on has to be different. We're still growing in exactly what that is. We have such a long ways to go, but we have the right mentality of what we want to be as a team.”

So 2 months ago, everyone said the Nuggets by far got the better of the trade. Who still thinks so?

OK, Colonel, I just did the same thing to you that you did to me -- inadvertently accepted your smackdown without actually even posting anything! So now that I'm in it, I need to bring it.

Can you really attribute this to Iverson? I think success in the NBA is more dependent on good team chemistry than star players -- even though star players get the most attention and, consequently, most credit/blame.

I think it is just a coincidence. AI is a great player. Give the Nuggets time to gel. I think Carmelo needs to mature as well.
