I suspect that when the points get rolling, five days will seem like an eternity. People will want to get instant revenge and rack some up some points of their own. Seems y'all should want to encourage people to check back frequently... not like eBay (post your bid and check back in a week). Maybe 2 days instead?

What I meant to say was, "The fields don't plow themselves."

Obscurantist tactics aside, five days is still too long :)

I agree here. Two days is plenty to wait. No one has the attention span to wait 5 days to follow one of these.

Tend to agree with you folks...five days is a bit long. 2 or 3 days is probably more ideal. Anyone else have thoughts on the ideal time limit?

I couldn't agree more with this. Takes forever.

I'm considering changing my vote. A reckless smackdown acceptance turned into a position taken, defenses were raised, passions enflamed, and suddenly we're enmeshed in a 5 day battle. What time is it? How long has it been? All I know is that it's been a mere 22 hours since this smackdown started but it feels like a lifetime. I don't even remember why we're fighting anymore. I'm sorry. Let's never fight again.
