Duke will be back in top 5 next year.

Did anyone see the John Feinstein article saying that the good times are over at Duke? http://www.washingtonp...

Basically he says that "Duke isn't Duke anymore", that Coach K has lost some fire, etc.

Well, maybe but I don't think so. First, Duke has a very young team (5 freshman and 5 sophomores), has had injuries to boot, and hell they still are at 22-10. Next year, they’ll all be older, and stronger, and they’re adding some serious offensive firepower.

Last time Duke had a crappy year, they were in last place in the ACC 1995 after being in the finals 4 of the last 5 years. They had one rebuilding year and then dominated the late 90's with a more talent and firepower than ever (Brand, Battier, Williams, etc).

You won't get rid of this guy that easily:

I watched Duke quite a few times this year and felt that they were really hurting for a playmaker or two. I don't see any real legit NBA quality guys on that team, so I don't think they will be top 5 next year. Perhaps the following year, assuming there is some REAL talent coming in next year. Also depends on who stays this year on the top teams, like OSU, Texas, Memphis, North Carolina and Kansas.

Isn't it amazing how much Coach K really looks like a rat??

Yeah -- especially when you super-impose his face on a rat's body.

Duke will be back in the swing in a season or two. Weren't we just discussing how fast college players turn over? Getting 5 top-tier freshman into Duke in a year or two will be easier than getting a stripper into one of their LaCrosse parties.
