For all the hype around Beasley (and he is a stud), Wisconsin had no trouble handling KState this weekend. Pretty much shut Beasley down in the second half. Welcome to Big 10 basketball friends. KU is going to be the next Big 12 team to buckle. Nova's on a roll!

KU can't take care of business in the tourney. How many times have they come in as the #1 or #2 seed, and what do they have to show for it? Two championships in the past 50 years and nada since '88 -- almost 20 years. They have to have one of the highest regular season winning percentages over the past 20 years, but to come up empty?

Beasley who? Isn't he the big-hype player from that Ag school in Manhattan that has only beaten KU twice since 1994? Sorry for the seeming lack of respect, but we KU fans don't tend to pay a whole lot of attention to the team in purple from down the road.

As for the "hoops powerhouse" Badgers, who last won an NCAA title when Franklin Roosevelt was president (1941) and who has exactly ONE Final Four appearance in the last half century, I'd say it probably makes sense for them to worry about Cinderella Davidson before they start booking hotel rooms in San Antonio.

The "next Big 12 team to buckle?" Sorry, but there's a little bit of difference between the #1 seed Jayhawks and the #11 seed Wildcats. The Jayhawks are deep, experienced, and hungry, and will slap down upstart 'Nova before beating Wisconsin like a rented badger.

Rock Chalk baby.

Yeah, here's the thing though, Badger breath. The Jayhawks are a very good basketball team--year in and year out. They have missed the NCAA Tournament ONCE in the last 25 years--a stretch which has included 15 Sweet Sixteen appearances, 9 trips to the Elite Eight, 6 Final Fours, and 3 appearances in the National Title game. I'll grant you that the same team of Jayhawk juniors and seniors that are now primed to go all the way stumbled against Bucknell as a #3 seed in 2005 and against Bradley as a #4 seed in 2006, but they were a young team, and those experiences are only going to make them more dangerous this year.

What exactly do the vaunted boys from Madison have to show for their efforts over that same stretch? 4 Sweet Sixteens, 2 Elite Eights, 1 Final Four, a whole bunch of first weekend exits, and a standing invitation to the NIT.

I'll take the Jayhawks batting average versus the Badgers--and their chances to beat Wisconsin next weekend--all day long. At the end of the

Even though I'm a Big 12 hater and a Big 10 supporter, I'm going to have to side with the Keg on this one. First off, Beasley is the number one pick this year, so give him his props. Second, Kansas basketball and Wisconsin basketball should not be whipsered in the same breath. Badger ball is played in the 40 to 50 point range. They like to take the air out of the ball. Something really to be proud of. And no, I'm not just bitter because Michigan scored 34 points the entire game against Wisconsin in the Big 10 tournament, registering on 10 FGs and something like 14 turnovers.

This is the type of statistical analysis from the Keg that I sorely miss from January through August. So satisfying.

Nobody knows his shit like the Keg. That said, I still say KU chokes. Go Bucky yourself.
