Here is my first and second all-time college hoops teams. I don't want to hear about Larry, Michael, Kidd, or David Robinson, or the rest. Below are the guys who were most dominant and most valuable in college.

First Team:
Lew Alcindor - no bigger winner, invented sky hook
Patrick Ewing - dominant shot blocker changed every game
Len Bias - redefined athleticism
Oscar Robertson - best all court player
Pete Maravich - noone had flasher moves or more offense

Second Team:
Bill Walton - He did it all, and rarely missed a shot
Christain Laettner - Mr Clutch in greatest game ever
Magic Johnson - re-invented point guard position
David Thompson - played above the rim and smooth as silk
Shane Battier - made an art of taking a charge

Seriously, if you put Shane Battier on any list other than art of taking the charge then you're kidding yourself. I'd have more respect for you if you said Grant Hill or even Bobby Hurley if you must continue the DOOK love affair. Not having Larry Bird on the list anywhere is just a crime. His college isn't even around any more, yet the time he was there, not only did he take them to a championship game against a far better team but he was drafted long before he came out of college. Silly. But you're missing some key guys chief and I'd have a much better team if I added a Ralph Sampson, Wilt and Elgin Baylor.

Here's the right list.
First Team:
Lew Alcindor
Bill Walton
Oscar Robertson
Pistol Pete Maravich
Earvin Magic Johnson

Second Team:
Bill Walton
Christian Laettner
Patrick Ewing
Larry Bird
Jerry West

Honorable Mention:
Wilt Chamberlain
Grant Hill
Ralph Sampson
Elgin Baylor

Isiah Thomas and Bob Hurley are missing from both lists

Ralph Sampson ?

You had to invent the idea of a honorable mention to put a Wahoo in there. I would put Grant Hill, Bobby Hurley, AND Jayson Williams above Sampson. Sampson lost all respect when he punched Jerry Sichting, a guy a 14 inches shorter.

No Mateen Cleaves?

I'm not sure, smithala... what about Bill Walton? Should he be an Honourable Mention, as well???

Mateen Cleaves was one of the biggest pro flops ever. However, I guess nobody really thought he'd be that great in the first place, so maybe he wasn't a flop after all!

My bad, missed the double mention of Walton. Composition was never really my specialty. Just replace the Walton on the 2nd team with Ralph. Sure I'm biased, being a UVa grad, but damn if someone didn't show their colors by putting "Who's Your Daddy, Battier" on the list. All he got was Academic All-American, while Ralph was getting the All-American recognition that mattered most.

Your hatred of Boston clouds your mind. Bill Russell belongs on the first team.
